Spill The Tea!

Updated: Jun 26, 2020

This Wellness Wednesday, we're spilling the tea on tea! There are many blends and brands of tea in the world so there's a lot of tea to spill.

Don't worry we're not going to talk about every tea in existence, rather, we'll dip our toes into 3 of my favorite teas and some fun facts about each one.

This loose leaf tea is newest to my home but it's already a favorite of mine. Grace Street always has great beverages (milk teas, lattes, & more) but this was my first loose leaf tea purchase from them. This Strawberry Lychee Tea is also a green tea. When served warm is a sweet cozy cup of deliciousness. A fun fact about this flavor combo is that strawberry, lychee, and green tea contain antioxidants which can "protect against the cell damage that free radicals cause, known as oxidative stress." - Medical News Today

Whenever I go to Dim Sum with friends there is always pot after pot of Chrysanthemum Tea. Normally, those pots contain chrysanthemum flowers but depending where you are in the world it might not be so easy to find. This is a tea that I've found in K-Town, NY that still makes me feel the same way I do when I drink the flower tea but I will admit the flavor profile isn't as deep. Nonetheless, it is a tea that eases the digesting process for my tummy. That is also our fun fact about Chrysanthemum Tea! According to word of mouth and Medium "...when taken with lunch or dinner especially with oily foods helps ease digestion."

Lastly is a tea that makes me feel magical. As I watch this butterfly tea steep is slowly transforms into a beautiful blue. If you add a touch of lemon, it turns PURPLE. This mildly sweet butterfly tea is infused with Jasmine. Both butterfly and jasmine tea are said to be mentally boosting teas that can fight insomnia. (According to Teami's Blog & Healthline)

TBH whether you drink tea for the benefits, for the coziness or as a soda replacement, drink teas that make you feel good 🙌🏾

As always, you don't have to drink what I drink but I'd definitely say if you don't own a tea that is not Lipton, it's time to try something new!

Side note: In case you'd like tools to make you tea experience a bit easier, check out TEAMI's Tumblers & Accessories. Personally, I use the Loose Leaf Tea Infuser and the Tea Tumbler - 20 oz.
